It was 50 years ago when Mr. Kentucky Basketball 1970, Robert Brooks, scored 128 points with a total of 52 field goals in the 1970 state tournament. He averaged 16 points a game as a sophomore, 23 points a game as a junior and 27 points a game as a senior with an average of 13 rebounds a game. His career totaled more than 2,200 points. Robert carried the Madison Purples to KHSAA Sweet Sixteen appearances in 1969 and 1970. Receiving All-State recognition in 1969 and 1970, he also is listed 7 times in KHSAA tournament records for his all-star performance in 1970.
