The selection of the candidates for Mr. and Miss Kentucky Basketball is managed by the Kentucky Lions Eye Foundation and the Kentucky Association of Basketball Coaches.
2023 Mr. and Miss KY Basketball Nomination Dates:
Please mark your calendars, as nominations for the 2023 Mr. and Miss Kentucky Basketball recipients will be accepted electronically starting Friday, January 20, 2023.
An email with the nomination page link will be sent to all Kentucky high school basketball head coaches, select Kentucky sports media members and to previous recipients of the Mr. and Miss Kentucky Basketball titles*. All nominations must be submitted by 11:59 PM (EST) Friday, January 27th.
*We do not have email address for ALL previous title recipients. If you know a previous award winner, please ask them to share their email with us so that they can nominate/vote. Email JenniferHunt@kylionseye.org for more info.
Coaches, media members and previous recipients can nominate THREE SENIOR candidates from ANY region in Kentucky.
Nominations for the 2023 KABC Regional Players of the Year will be sent out separately by the Kentucky Association of Basketball Coaches on Monday, February 6th and their deadline to nominate is Friday, February 11th.
After KLEF & KABC have finished our separate nomination processes, the Kentucky Lions Eye Foundation and the Kentucky Association of Basketball Coaches will coordinate to compile our joint top nominees and the top nominated candidate(s) from each region will be announced as KABC Regional Players of the Year / Mr. or Miss Kentucky Basketball Candidates on February 17, 2023.
At that time, the Kentucky Lions Eye Foundation will send out information for the voting in which coaches, media and previous recipients will select the top male and female candidate to become the 2023 Mr. and Miss Kentucky Basketball recipients.
The winners will be announced during the 2023 IN-PERSON Mr. and Miss Kentucky Basketball Awards Ceremony on Sunday, March 19, 2023.

Who is eligible to be nominated for Mr. and Miss Kentucky Basketball?
Any senior basketball player in a Kentucky high school who is in good academic standing and in good standing with the KHSAA.
