Bennie Purcell’s son Mel accepted the Ralph Beard Award for his father during the 2016 Mr. and Miss Kentucky Basketball Awards Ceremony. Unfortunately Bennie passed away in February but his son and Murray State University friends were able to attend the event and accept his award.
